Activity 1: Launching PowerPoint from Start-Programs-Microsoft Word 1.
Click
on the "Start" 2. Point to the “All Programs” menu and scroll to find "Microsoft Office." then select "Microsoft PowerPoint." 3. Click to open PowerPoint to a new document. |

Activity 2: Create a shortcut to a new Word document on the Desktop. |

It is easy to create a Shortcut icon to any program, folder, or file and place the shortcut on your desktop. 1. Right click on the desktop and from the pop-up menu choose New then Microsoft Office PowerPoint Document.
2. A new icon appears on your desktop - to give it a name, type module 1 document and hit the Enter key. 3. Double click to open.

Activity 3: Creating a Shortcut to Word on the Quick-Launch Toolbar . Follow the steps below to create a shortcut to Word on your Quick Launch toolbar. If the Quick Launch toolbar is not showing, right click on the Taskbar, point to Toolbars, and then check "Quick Launch" |

In Windows Vista the Quick Launch
toolbar is located on the Taskbar
1.Go to Start - All Programs and find the folder or icon you want (you may also open the My Computer window and navigate to the file location) 2. Right click and hold, then drag onto the desktop (do not drop yet) 3. Drag "Ghost" icon down into the Quick Launch toolbar and drop
3. To start PowerPoint from the Quick Launch toolbar, click once.

Activity 4: The New Document Menu In the Office Menu 1. Open Word to a blank document. To create a new Word document from a template, click on the Office Button and the the New button 2. Choose a recently opened document, or create a new document – either Blank or from a template. 3. Preview some of the available templates under the various tabs (i.e. Reports, Letters and Faxes, etc.) 4. Close Word. |
