Inserting Pictures and Drawings

This module will cover the topics in the bulleted list below relating to Inserting Pictures and Drawings. Complete each of the activities by following the steps enumerated in the yellow box. Some of the activities will be accompanied by demos to help you "see" the steps being performed before trying them yourself. At the end of this module, you will be given an assignment which you should complete and email as an attachment to cgeorge@wresa.org . It is up to you how many drawing objects you create for this assignment.

1. Open Excel to a blank document. Save as "Drawings and Pictures". 

2. Practice using the various drawing tools found in the picture below.

3. Save your work.

Insert an imported picture or clip art
Activity 2Insert an imported picture or clip art

Use this procedure to place a picture on a worksheet. You can also apply a picture to certain chart items, such as data markers.

If you installed Clip Gallery when you installed Microsoft Office, you can insert clip art in your workbook by using the Clip Art command (Insert menu, Picture submenu).

1.      To insert a picture on a worksheet or chart sheet, click the sheet tab for the worksheet or chart sheet.

To insert a picture on an embedded chart, click the embedded chart.

2.      On the Insert menu, point to Picture, and then click From File.

3.      Locate the folder that contains the picture you want to insert.

4.      Double-click the picture. 

5.   Save your work and email as an attachment to cgeorge@wresa.org .
