Module 2

Creating a Presentation From a Word Outline

You must have Microsoft Word installed on your computer to complete this module. This module will cover the topics in the bulleted list below relating to  Word Outlines. Complete each of the activities by following the steps enumerated in the yellow box. Some of the activities will be accompanied by demos to help you "see" the steps being performed before trying them yourself. At the end of this module, you will be given an assignment which you should complete and email as an attachment to cgeorge@wresa.org .

1. Open Microsoft Word. Type the following sentences, hitting Enter after each one. Then apply the Heading 1, 2, or 3 styles to the sentences

Creating a PowerPoint Presentation from a Word Outline

First Level Titles Will Be Created in Heading 1 Style

Second Level Titles Will Be Created in Heading 2 Style

Third Level Titles Will Be Created in Heading 3 Style

 

After Creating the Outline in Word, Save it as Outline.doc

Switch to Outline View, Close Word, and Open PowerPoint

Finally, Open the Word Document in PowerPoint

 

View the Presentation in Slide View and in Outline View

Switch to Slide View and Apply the Design Template Blush.pot

Change the Font and the Title of this Slide

Change the Bullets by Following These Steps:

 

Place the Cursor in Front of the Text Beside the Bullet

Select Format on the Menu Bar, and Click on Bullet

Choose a Different Bullet From the Monotype Sorts Font Chart

2. Save the document as Outline.doc, then close Word.

1.Open PowerPoint to a blank slide. From the File menu, choose Open. Navigate to the folder where you saved the Word document Outline.doc. In the Files of Type drop down list, choose All Files. Double click on the Outline.doc file to open it in PowerPoint.

1.  Resize the fonts so that all the text fits on the slide. Then Apply a Design Template. Your presentation may look something like this:
