Module 4

There are a number of ways to move around in a workbook. Moving from one cell
to another in Excel XP is quick and easy. The ways to move from cell to cell
include clicking a cell or using the Go To command, the scroll bars, the arrow
keys, or the HOME, END, PAGE UP, and PAGE DOWN keys. This module covers the

Activity 1: Moving from cell to cell within a worksheet Open the document you downloaded in the previous exercise (ExcelPracticeOne.xls) and practice changing the active cell by each of the following methods:
2. To move one cell to the right, press TAB, or to move one cell to the left, press SHIFT+TAB. 3. To move one cell down, right, up, or left, use the arrow keys. 4. To move to the uppermost-left cell, A1; press CTRL+HOME. 5. To move to any cell, on the Edit Menu, click Go To and then type any cell number (for example, J18). 6. To move down in the worksheet, press PAGE DOWN. 7. To move up in the worksheet, press PAGE UP. 8. To move to the first column of the worksheet, press HOME. |

Activity 2: Moving from worksheet to worksheet The workbook ExcelPracticeOne contains three worksheets. Practice moving from one worksheet to another in the workbook by clicking the worksheet tabs in the left-bottom area on the worksheet. |

Worksheets Use worksheets to list and analyze data. You can enter and edit data on several worksheets simultaneously and perform calculations based on data from multiple worksheets. When you create a chart, you can place the chart on the worksheet with its related data or on a separate chart sheet. Sheet tabs The names of the sheets appear on tabs at the bottom of the workbook window. To move from sheet to sheet, click the sheet tabs.
