A Teacher Workshop with Online Interactive Assignments

---

UNC Asheville is offering an online technology based astronomy workshop to area teachers. The workshop will give teachers of any level an introduction to basic astronomy with rich content and underlying principles. The primary target audience is K-8.

One academic credit (pass/fail) and three technology CEUs will be awarded.

Workshop Description: This pass/fail online interactive workshop carries one university credit plus three technology CEUs. It employs the latest in web-based technology to cover celestial latitude and longitude, the major constellations and properties of stars. Beautiful photos taken by the Hubble Space Telescope will be included to explore the wonders of deep-sky objects such as star clusters, nebulae and galaxies. Our workshop/course also introduces some of Einstein’s concepts and how they are applicable in astronomy.
