Request for Proposals

Request:

We wish to procure installation of routing and switching equipment for the  WNCEDNET network.  

Background:

WNCEDNET is building a fiber optic network for the schools located in the six counties of Jackson, Macon, Swain, Cherokee, Clay, and Graham.   This network includes the charter schools and the tribal schools on the Cherokee Indian Reservation.

Deadline for response:

In order to be considered proposals must be received by 8/18/2007 midnight.  Proposals may be submitted via email (preferred) or fax to Leonard Winchester.

Format:

The proposals are to be submitted using a Microsoft Office or compatible product.  Other formats may be acceptable on advance approval.   It is anticipated that the proposals submitted will be hourly rate proposals.  All costs that we, as the customer will be expected to pay must be delineated.  Some time for administration, coordination and scheduling will be required.  Please delineate these costs separately.   Work is to be invoiced and paid weekly.   Please include the names of the individuals, education, certifications and experience.  Scheduling availability and restrictions are to be addressed.

7   -  WS-3750G-12S Core Switches

42 -  WS-3560-24TS-E  Edge Switches (or more)

Various Cisco transceivers.

This equipment has been ordered but has not been delivered.

Award decision.

The decision will be based upon the needs and interests of WNCEDNET and its member organizations.  Multiple vendors may be selected.  All may be rejected.  A selected vendor may be terminated at any time.  Scope of work documents are not anticipated.

Network Configurations:

The specific network configurations that are critical to determining the amount of time involved are not available.  In most cases, advice on network configuration will be sought as part of the work.
