Request for Proposals

Request:  We wish to complete the fiber installation and termination for the ten Graham County sites.  The fiber has been deployed to each site.   The expectation is for a turn-key job.  Proposals are to include all labor, equipment, terminations, racks, patch cables, etc. necessary to connect Cisco equipment that is on-site into a star network utilizing the recently deployed fiber.  The setup and configuration of the Cisco equipment is not part of this proposal.  Our expectation is that the setup and configuration of the Cisco equipment will be the only remaining work to make the network operational.  The fiber must be brought inside each building, routed to a patch panel and terminated with SC connectors in accordance with state and local codes.

Background: In connection with the WNCEdNET project, fiber was deployed from Topton to Robbinsville.  The work for the schools is complete.  In connection with this project 10 county sites are also to be connected in a county star.  This network is a separate physical network from the school sites.

Deadline for response: In order to be considered proposals must be received by 6/6/2008 midnight.  Proposals may be submitted via email or fax to Leonard Winchester.  Submissions will be acknowledged.  Email address:   lwinches@verizon.net  Fax:  828-488-0880

Format: The proposals are to be submitted using a Microsoft Office, or compatible product. Other formats may be acceptable on advance approval.

On-site visit: An onsite visit is required.  This is necessary so that as a vendor you can determine the particulars on type and quantity of racks, panels, etc. that are to be acquired and installed as part of the proposal.   Contact Frank Rodgers Jr. for an appointment.  Phone: 828-479-4342 Email:  jr.Rodgers@ncmail.net

Completion of work deadline: As part of your proposal it is essential that you establish a firm completion date and a daily penalty you will subject yourself to for failure to complete all work by this date.  A delay caused because of an existing faulty splice will not incur a penalty.
